Located on the quiet shores of Lake Cherokee, this site was completely re-imagined as a permanent homesite for our client, with comfort as a top priority.  The relaxed nature of lakeside living is evident throughout the context of the home and its surroundings.  With a referral from the architect, our team was hired for leading the design and construction of the exterior site and related outdoor elements. The result being an expression of the client's style, through a successful collaborative process that continues to develop through relationships built and our team’s ongoing landscape management services.

sub overview

The initial site planning and design were challenged by the proximity of existing neighboring homes, accompanied by a narrow lot layout.  Screening for privacy, along with exploring options that would provide a comfortable fit for the size of the home, related vehicular and pedestrian circulation, and exterior outdoor living elements was our primary focus.  Once these program elements were placed on site, promoting the integral relationship between form and function, the details and materials were refined with working drawings that led the direction for constructing this lakeside gem.

Entry Courtyard

An intentional connection and arrival experience creates a seamless relationship between the indoor and outdoor living space of a home. Opening up an entry with hardscape and soft textures can compliment the comfort felt when arriving at the front door, enhancing a place dedicated to greeting.

Our team loves designing properties with natural topography, which is commonly the case with lake sites. Working with elevation, provides opportunities to develop creative solutions for the unique use of materials such as this cut lueders limestone. Crafted by our crews on site, the selection of a refined slab stone path allows for a clean cut fit and compliment to the adjacent linear geometry of the pool terrace walls.

Firepit Terrace

Designed for a location on the site that provided for an intimate connection to the lake side, the gravel terrace is situated along the path connection from the pool terrace to the boathouse. This passive destination calls for a restful and relaxing break between the two more active amenities.
