Overview
Located in Northeast Texas, Cross Pines Ranch is a natural preserve of over 1800 acres and is protected through a Conservation Easement with the purpose of protecting the natural integrity of the land, it’s rich ecology, and natural resources from the impacts of future development. By offering numerous amenities, there is no shortage in the experience and value of creating family memories in the outdoors.
We are proud to share the result of our Cross Pines 1 project, our collaborative work with both the client and Contractor in developing simply one of the most spectacular homesites in Cross Pines. It is always such an enjoyable process and life-giving experience when this collaborative effort builds’ relationships that far exceed the development of a single project, which in this case has led to what has now been many years of continued service and friendship.
Often we discuss the practice of restraint in our use of materials for certain features in the landscape. This wood burning fire pit proved to be a successful result, by building this feature with a simple vertical arrangement of the masonry slabs used for the veneer of the home.

Limestone Walls
Oversize limestone masonry slabs were used for both the veneer of the home and the perimeter walls that tie formally into the home. The wall layouts were designed to provide a transitional foundation and hierarchy of the exterior aesthetic.
